Puente Don Manuel is situated a 10 minute drive north of Vélez-Málaga at the beginning of the Venta Baja valley.  Ten years ago it consisted of a small scattering of Spanish houses around the bridge after which the village is named; however a great deal of development has taken place in the area since that time, and there are many new housing developments the majority of which have been bought by British nationals both as permanent and holiday homes.  The area has been dubbed “Little Britain” due to the number of UK residents, and it does provide a reassuring base for people relocating to Spain who do not necessarily wish to integrate too quickly into the Spanish community.
